While some bands need several years and dozens of albums to gain the proper recognition among fans and critics, Defecation needed just one release to become a legend among the grindcore community. ?Purity Delusion? landed like an atom bomb on unsuspecting minds, opening a new chapter in extreme music. Fourteen years later Defecation returned to glory with the follow-up album ?Intention Surpassed?, which was yet another masterpiece of sick and brutal sounds. Now, with the exclusive re-releases of both of Defecation?s LPs, you can once again witness the power of true destruction?

Purity Dilution (1989)
The album started out slow, but soon became one of the biggest early successes for Nuclear Blast, gaining a cult status in the following years. No surprise there - the LP was a straight-forward kick in the end, combining all the best elements of extreme music - death, thrash, grind, punk and hardcore - into one fierce battletank armed with pure aggression. The music was equally divided between the duo: Mitch focused on guitars and bass, while Mick did the drum parts. Both of them recorded the vocals on the album - mostly death metal grunts, mixed with some high-pitched shrieks and screams. Musically, "Purity Dilution" offered a violent grind-fest, inspired greatly by death metal - just listen to the guitar-work on "Contagion" or the blast beats on "Predominance" or "Recovery". The lyrics were focused on a world on the edge of self-destruction (best heard in the track "Life On Planet Earth Is Fucken Cancerous"), torture, agony and, well... defecation, but they also had a lot to say about the environment and religion ("Popular Belief"). The album proved to be a true milestone for grindcore music and an inspiration to numerous extreme bands in the future.

Intention Surpassed (2003)
This time it was completely a one-man effort: Mitch Harris did all the guitars, bass, drums, vocals and lyrics. He knew that it wasn't easy to create a worthy successor to the spectacular debut album, but eventually the risk paid off and "Intention Surpassed" proved to be a valuable addition to the legacy Defecation. The album went a bit more into the progressive side, focusing on mid-paced tempos (like in "Fibre Optical Illusion"), but in the same not forgetting the punk-rock attitude present on "Purity Dilution" ("Under Surveillance", "Chronically Preserved").

?Purity Dilution? and ?Intention Surpassed? will be available in a new digipak edition limited to numerated 2000 copies. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc. Metal Mind Productions will release both titles on 18th August 2008 in Europe and 28th October 2008 in USA (via MVD).
