Taliesin Orchestra - "A Tribute To The Hits Of Enya" finally available in Europe
Metal Mind Productions presents European release of the Taliesin Orchestra's album - ?A Tribute To The Hits Of Enya?.
The Taliesin Orchestra is a musical group that specializes in remaking famous songs into orchestra-style melodies. Led by keyboardist Trammell Starks in tandem with conductor, producer and arranger Charles Sayre, the Taliesin Orchestra rose to success with a series of symphonic albums reprising the work of some of New Age music's most popular artists. Their debut ?Orinoco Flow: The Music of Enya? appeared in 1996, followed a year later by ?Forbidden Forest: The Music of George Winston?. 1997 also saw the release of ?Anthem?, a break from Taliesin Orchestra tradition with its focus on re-interpreting classic rock hits. The music of Enya, however, was again the subject for 1998's ?Maiden of Mysteries? and provided a "best of" disc for the group in 2002. Meanwhile, the Taliesin Orchestra was rather quiet in the following years, reappearing in 2002 with their gospel collection ?Sacred?.
?A Tribute To The Hits Of Enya? is Taliesin Orchestra's 12-track tribute to the quintessential new age singer, Enya, features versions of some of the Irish diva's best known songs, including "Caribbean Blue," "Only Time," and the wildly popular "Orinoco Flow." The album will be available in a nice CD digipak edition.
Born and raised in Ireland, Enya was originally a member of the hugely successful Irish band Clannad, which also included her older brothers and sisters. ?Watermark?, her second solo album, released in 1988, sold 8 million copies worldwide and established Enya as an international star. It featured the international single hit ?Orinoco Flow?. Her follow-up album, ?Shepherds Moon?, released in 1991, sold over 10 million copies worldwide, and earned Enya her first Grammy award for best new age album. ?Carribean Blue? was the featured single on the album. Enya spent 4 years working her next album ?Memory of Trees?, which was released in late 1995. The album sold over 2 million copies in it?s first year of release in the US. It also resulted in her second Grammy win for best new age album. In 2000, Enya released her next album of new material, ?A Day Without Rain?. The album contained a number one ac Billboard hit, ?Only Time?, which also became an anthem of tragedy and loss due to the events of 9/11. The album resulted in Enya?s third Grammy award win. ?Amarantine?, Enya?s latest album, was released in November, 2005. It is a huge worldwide success, impacting the top 10 Billboard chart in virtually every country. It sold over one million copies in the US in just 7 weeks of release, and the ?Amarantine? single has scaled both the new age and adult contemporary charts. Enya?s other accomplishments include composing and performing a soundtrack for the BBC which later resulted in a solo album release titled ?Celts? that sold over 1 million copies in the US. Her contribution of ?May It Be? to the Lord Of The Rings film trilogy resulted in an international hit single.
