Alchemy - an extensive interview with Clive Nolan
As with the forthcoming release of the Alchemy album and the live premiere of the project, an extensive interview with Clive Nolan has been published on his official website.
Nolan: "After I did 'SHE', I was looking for another musical to do. I always intended to do at least two of these, because you learn a lot the first time and then you can use these lessons the second time. I wanted to do another one that was Victorian, because I love that era. I read a lot of books and each time I thought that something would be a great story, I checked online and there would be 'Jack the Ripper - the Musical', 'Jeckyll and Hyde - the Musical' and it was very hard to find a story that hadn't been done by somebody else. So, I came to the conclusion that what I really needed to do was perhaps to create my own story. I remember I was in a Russian restaurant in Lithuania when I had the original idea for this story. Then I decided I can write a musical. This was actually a mistake because I started to imagine it too much on stage. In the end, I realised that what I needed was something a little bit like a book for 'SHE', a story I could look at and think how I am going to do that as a musical. And it took a lot of time because I was busy with other things, but I gradually created this story. I would describe it as a short story or a very short novel."

The recordings of the studio album "Alchemy" have been officially completed and we can now confirm that the double album will be released on March, 4th in Europe and April, 9th in USA. This release will, however, be preceded by the world premiere of "Alchemy" show at the famous Wyspianski Theatre in Katowice, Poland on February 22, 2013, where it will be recorded for the purposes of a DVD to be released by Metal Mind Productions later next year. We can also reveal that the album will be available for purchase at the Theatre prior to the official release date.
This special evening at the Theatre will be enriched by two additional concerts. One of the Artists performing that night will be Paul Menel, who, along with his band, will perform songs from one of the best albums in the career of his previous formation IQ - "Nomzamo". The other one is a German band RPWL and as they announce, it will be the last complete performance of "Beyond Man and Time" album in Europe. All shows will be recorded and released on DVD by Metal Mind Productions later next year.
